  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the City of Punta Gorda,

  3         Charlotte County; prohibiting the taking of

  4         saltwater fish except by hook and line within

  5         any manmade saltwater canal within the city;

  6         providing a penalty; providing an effective

  7         date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11         Section 1.  It is unlawful for any person to take or

12  attempt to take any saltwater fish, except by hook and line,

13  within any manmade saltwater canal located in the City of

14  Punta Gorda.

15         Section 2.  The violation of the provisions of section

16  1 is a misdemeanor of the second degree punishable as provided

17  in section 775.082 or section 775.083, Florida Statutes.

18         Section 3.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1998.
