13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 

14         On page 2, line 1, delete that line

15

16  and insert:

17         Section 1.  Subsection (2) of section 624.4236, Florida

18  Statutes, is amended to read:

19         627.4236  Coverage for bone marrow transplant

20  procedures.--

21         (2)  An insurer or a health maintenance organization

22  may not exclude coverage for bone marrow transplant procedures

23  recommended by the referring physician and the treating

24  physician under a policy exclusion for experimental, clinical

25  investigative, educational, or similar procedures contained in

26  any individual or group health insurance policy or health

27  maintenance organization contract issued, amended, delivered,

28  or renewed in this state that covers treatment for cancer, if

29  the particular use of the bone marrow transplant procedure is

30  determined to be accepted within the appropriate oncological

31  specialty and not experimental pursuant to subsection (3).

 2  associated with the donor-patient to the same extent and

 3  limitations as costs associated with the insured.

 4         Section 2.  Sections 2 through 6 of this act may be

10         On page 1, line 2, after the semicolon

12  insert:

13         amending s. 627.4236, F.S.; requiring coverage

14         for bone marrow transplant procedures to
