  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the City of Deerfield Beach,

  3         Broward County; extending and enlarging the

  4         corporate limits of the City of Deerfield Beach

  5         to include specified unincorporated lands

  6         within said corporate limits; providing an

  7         effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10

11         Section 1.  The present corporate limits of the City of

12  Deerfield Beach, Broward County, Florida, are hereby extended

13  and enlarged so as to include, in addition to the territory

14  presently within its corporate limits, a portion of Section

15  11, Township 48 South, Range 42 East, Broward County, Florida,

16  described as follows:

18         COMMENCE AT THE EAST QUARTER (E. 1/4) CORNER OF

19         SAID SECTION 11; THENCE SOUTH 88°22'20" WEST

20         ALONG THE SOUTH LINE OF THE NORTHEAST QUARTER

21         (N.E. 1/4) OF SAID SECTION 11, A DISTANCE OF

22         80.00 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING; THENCE

23         CONTINUE SOUTH 88°22'20" WEST ALONG THE LAST

24         DESCRIBED COURSE. A DISTANCE OF 438.06 FEET;

25         THENCE SOUTH 14°17'46" WEST ALONG A LINE 150.00

26         FEET EAST OF AND PARALLEL WITH THE BASELINE OF

27         SURVEY AND CENTERLINE OF CONSTRUCTION AS SHOWN

28         ON THE RIGHT OF WAY MAP FOR INTERSTATE 95 AND

29         S.W. 10TH STREET, SECTION NO. 86070-2455, (ALSO

30         SHOWN AS THE CENTERLINE OF I-95 SECTION NO.

31         86070-2413), A DISTANCE OF 685.29 FEET; THENCE

  8         QUARTER (S.E. 1/4) OF SAID SECTION 11, A

  9         DISTANCE OF 640.00 FEET; THENCE SOUTH 88°22'20"

10         WEST, A DISTANCE OF 30.00 FEET; THENCE NORTH

11         01°31'06" WEST, A DISTANCE OF 20.00 FEET TO THE

12         POINT OF BEGINNING. THE LAST TWO (2) DESCRIBED

13         COURSES BEING COINCIDENT WITH PARCEL 242

14         (PARTS) AS DESCRIBED IN QUIT CLAIM DEED AS

15         RECORDED IN OFFICIAL RECORDS BOOK 10750, PAGE

16         188, OF THE PUBLIC RECORDS OF BROWARD COUNTY,

17         FLORIDA.

19         SAID LANDS LYING IN BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA,

20         CONTAINING 8.487 ACRES, MORE OR LESS.

22         SUBJECT TO ALL EASEMENTS, RESERVATIONS AND

23         RIGHTS OF WAY OF RECORD.

25         Section 2.  On the effective date of this act the City

26  of Deerfield Beach shall be responsible for and embodied with

27  all municipal powers granted in chapter 166, Florida Statutes,

28  over territory hereby annexed.

29         Section 3.  Nothing in this chapter shall be construed

30  to affect or abrogate the rights of parties to any contracts,

31  whether the same be between Broward County and a third party

  1  or between nongovernmental entities, which contracts are in

  2  effect prior to the effective date of annexation.

  3         Section 4.  This act shall take effect October 1, 1998.
