  2         An act relating to license plates; amending ss.

  3         320.08056, 320.08058, F.S.; creating a Keep

  4         Kids Drug-Free license plate; providing for the

  5         distribution of annual use fees received from

  6         the sale of such plates; providing an effective

  7         date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11         Section 1.  Paragraph (t) is added to subsection (4) of

12  section 320.08056, Florida Statutes, to read:

13         320.08056  Specialty license plates.--

14         (4)  The following license plate annual use fees shall

15  be collected for the appropriate specialty license plates:

16         (t)  Keep Kids Drug-Free license plate, $25.

17         Section 2.  Subsection (20) is added to section

18  320.08058, Florida Statutes, to read:

19         320.08058  Specialty license plates.--

20         (20)  KEEP KIDS DRUG-FREE LICENSE PLATES.--

21         (a)  The department shall develop a Keep Kids Drug-Free

22  license plate as provided in this section. The word "Florida"

23  must appear at the top of the plate, and the words "Keep Kids

24  Drug-Free" must appear at the bottom of the plate.

25         (b)  The annual use fees shall be distributed to the

26  Keep Kids Drug-Free Foundation, Inc., which shall use the fees

27  to fund activities to reduce substance abuse among residents

28  of this state. The foundation shall develop a plan to

29  distribute the funds for drug-abuse prevention programs.

30         Section 3.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1998.
