  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the regulation of health

  3         care professionals; creating s. 455.569, F.S.;

  4         providing for mandatory permanent revocation of

  5         licensure of certain health care professionals

  6         who are regulated by the Department of Health

  7         and have been found to have committed sexual

  8         misconduct in the practice of their profession;

  9         providing an effective date.

11  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

13         Section 1.  Section 455.569, Florida Statutes, is

14  created to read:

15         455.569  Sexual misconduct; revocation of license,

16  certificate, or registration.--Notwithstanding any other

17  provision of law to the contrary, each board within the

18  jurisdiction of the department, or the department if there is

19  no board, shall permanently revoke the license, certificate,

20  or registration of any health care practitioner or other

21  licensee under the jurisdiction of the Division of Medical

22  Quality Assurance of the department who has been found by the

23  board, or the department if there is no board, to have

24  committed sexual misconduct in the practice of his or her

25  profession.

26         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

27  law.
