  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to federal designations for

  3         Florida land or water bodies; restricting

  4         authority to apply for federal designations to

  5         the Legislature and the Cabinet; providing an

  6         effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9

10         Section 1.  The Legislature and the Cabinet are the

11  only entities authorized to apply for a federal designation

12  for any land or water body in the state, including any lake,

13  river, spring, stream, tributary, aquifer, or watershed.

14         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

15  law.

      Provides that the Florida Legislature and the Florida
20    Cabinet are the only entities authorized to apply for a
      federal designation for any Florida land or water body.
