11  Senator Dyer moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 

14         On page 4, between lines 9 and 10,

16  insert:

17         Section 4.  (1)  The Rodman Dam, in Putnam County,

18  Florida, is renamed the "Senator George Kirkpatrick Dam."

19         (2)  The Department of Environmental Protection is

20  directed to erect suitable markers bearing the new designation

21  made by this section.

 1         "Senator George Kirkpatrick Dam"; providing for

 2         the erection of markers; providing an effective

 3         date.

 5         WHEREAS, the Rodman Dam has been in existence since

 6  1968, constructed as part of the former Cross Florida Barge

 7  Canal, and

 8         WHEREAS, Senator George Kirkpatrick seems to have a

 9  keen interest in the final disposition of Rodman Dam, and

10         WHEREAS, Senator George Kirkpatrick is an avid bass

11  fisherman, naturalist, and outdoorsman, and

12         WHEREAS, Senator George Kirkpatrick has led the

13  opposition to the removal of the dam throughout his Senate

14  career, and
