  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the Public Service

  3         Commission; amending s. 350.042, F.S.;

  4         authorizing members of the state Legislature to

  5         address the commission at public meetings;

  6         providing an effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9

10         Section 1.  Subsection (8) is added to section 350.042,

11  Florida Statutes, to read:

12         350.042  Ex parte communications.--

13         (8)  This section does not prohibit a member of the

14  state Senate or state House of Representatives from addressing

15  the commission at any scheduled and noticed public meeting of

16  the commission.

17         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

18  law.

      Clarifies that a prohibition against ex parte
23    communications does not prohibit members of the
      Legislature from addressing the Public Service Commission
24    at scheduled and noticed public meetings.
