1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to regulation of professionals;
3 amending s. 455.624, F.S.; specifying health
4 care professionals for whom failure to wear
5 certain identification while offering services
6 to the public is grounds for certain
7 disciplinary actions; providing an exemption;
8 providing an effective date.

10 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12 Section 1. Paragraph (t) is added to subsection (1) of
13 section 455.624, Florida Statutes, to read:
14 455.624 Grounds for discipline; penalties;
15 enforcement.--
16 (1) The following acts shall constitute grounds for
17 which the disciplinary actions specified in subsection (2) may
18 be taken:
19 (t) Failing to wear identification, which shall be
20 conspicuously displayed and legible, indicating the
21 practitioner's name and professional title authorized pursuant
22 to chapter 457; chapter 458; chapter 459; chapter 460; chapter
23 461; chapter 462; chapter 463; chapter 464; chapter 465;
24 chapter 466; part I, part III, part V, part X, or part XIV of
25 chapter 468; chapter 480; part III or part IV of chapter 483;
26 chapter 486; chapter 490; or chapter 491, while practicing as
27 an employee or operator of a hospital, clinic, group practice,
28 or multiprofessional facility, or at a commercial
29 establishment, offering health care services to the public.
30 Disciplinary actions for violation of this paragraph shall be
31 restricted to those provided in paragraphs (2)(e) and (g).

1 Physicians licensed pursuant to chapter 458, chapter 459,
2 chapter 460, or chapter 461 are exempt from this paragraph
3 while practicing in a clinic, group practice, or
4 multiprofessional facility.
5 Section 2. This act shall take effect October 1 of the
6 year in which enacted.
