18         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in accordance with the

19  requirements of section 101.161, Florida Statutes, the title

20  and substance of the amendment proposed herein shall appear on

21  the ballot as follows:

22               ADDITIONAL HOMESTEAD TAX EXEMPTION;

23                AD VALOREM TAX RELIEF FOR RENTERS

24         Effective January 1, 1999, authorizes the Legislature

25  to allow counties and municipalities:

26         (1)  To grant an additional homestead tax exemption not

27  exceeding $25,000 to certain persons 65 or older whose

28  household income does not exceed a specified amount.

29         (2)  To grant ad valorem tax relief to renters who

30  reside permanently on rental property, who are 65 or older,

31  and whose household income does not exceed a specified amount.
