13         Amendment (with title amendment) 

14         On page 3, between lines 17 and 18, of the bill

15

16  insert:

17         (g)  The legislature may, by general law, provide

18  procedures by which counties and municipalities may, for the

19  purpose of their respective tax levies and subject to the

20  provisions of general law, provide to renters who maintain

21  their permanent residence on said rental property and who have

22  attained age sixty-five and whose household income, as defined

23  by general law, does not exceed twenty thousand dollars, ad

24  valorem tax relief on all ad valorem tax levies. Such ad

25  valorem tax relief shall be in the form and amount established

26  by general law. The general law shall provide for the periodic

27  adjustment of the income limitation prescribed in this

28  subsection for changes in the cost of living.
