13         Amendment to Amendment (882149) (with title amendment) 

14         On page 11, between lines 16 and 17, of the amendment

15

16  insert:

17         Section 4.  Prior to implementation of the

18  privatization of child protective investigative services under

19  s. 415.5071, Florida Statutes, as created in this act, the

20  sheriffs of Pinellas and Pasco Counties shall each submit a

21  plan for the delivery of such services to the Department of

22  Children and Family Services for review and comment. The

23  department shall review each plan and return it to the

24  sheriff, with comments, within 30 days after submission. The

25  plan shall describe how the sheriff's department will handle

26  referrals for service to community agencies, as well as how

27  dependency court proceedings will be initiated and coordinated

28  when children need to be placed in shelter or adjudicated

29  dependent. The department must approve the service delivery

30  plan prior to implementation of the privatization program in

31  the county.
