11  Senators Klein and Gutman moved the following amendment to

12  amendment (192526):

14         Senate Amendment 

15         On page 6, lines 18-24, delete those lines

16

17  and insert:  two licensed psychiatrists or psychologists, or

18  one licensed psychiatrist and one licensed psychologist,

19  designated by the Secretary of Children and Family Services.

20  Both evaluators must concur. If one of the professionals

21  performing the evaluation does not concur that the person

22  meets the criteria for civil commitment, but the other

23  professional concludes that the person meets the criteria, the

24  Secretary of Children and Family Services shall arrange for

25  further examination of the person by two independent licensed

26  psychiatrists or psychologists or by one independent licensed

27  psychiatrist and one independent licensed psychologist. If an

28  examination by independent professionals is conducted, a

29  petition to seek commitment under this act shall only be filed

30  if both independent professionals who evaluate the person

31  pursuant to this subsection concur that the person meets the
