  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to trust funds; re-creating the

  3         Transportation Disadvantaged Trust Fund within

  4         the Department of Transportation without

  5         modification; carrying forward current balances

  6         and continuing current sources and uses

  7         thereof; providing an effective date.

  8

  9         WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of

10  the Transportation Disadvantaged Trust Fund within the

11  Department of Transportation, which is otherwise scheduled to

12  be terminated pursuant to constitutional mandate, and

13         WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the

14  Transportation Disadvantaged Trust Fund within the Department

15  of Transportation before its scheduled termination date and

16  has found that it continues to meet an important public

17  purpose, and

18         WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public

19  policy concerning the Transportation Disadvantaged Trust Fund

20  within the Department of Transportation sets adequate

21  parameters for its use, NOW, THEREFORE,

22

23  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

24

25         Section 1.  The Transportation Disadvantaged Trust Fund

26  within the Department of Transportation, SAMAS number 552731,

27  which was created by section 427.0159, Florida Statutes, and

28  which is to be terminated pursuant to Section 19(f), Article

29  III of the State Constitution on November 4, 2000, is

30  re-created.

  1         Section 2.  All current balances of the Transportation

  2  Disadvantaged Trust Fund within the Department of

  3  Transportation are carried forward, and all current sources

  4  and uses of the trust fund are continued.

  5         Section 3.  This act shall take effect November 4,

  6  2000.
