  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to trust funds; re-creating the

  3         License Tax Collection Trust Fund within the

  4         Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles

  5         without modification; carrying forward current

  6         balances and continuing current sources and

  7         uses thereof; providing an effective date.

  8

  9         WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of

10  the License Tax Collection Trust Fund within the Department of

11  Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, which is otherwise

12  scheduled to be terminated pursuant to constitutional mandate,

13  and

14         WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the License Tax

15  Collection Trust Fund within the Department of Highway Safety

16  and Motor Vehicles before its scheduled termination date and

17  has found that it continues to meet an important public

18  purpose, and

19         WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public

20  policy concerning the License Tax Collection Trust Fund within

21  the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles sets

22  adequate parameters for its use, NOW, THEREFORE,

23

24  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

25

26         Section 1.  The License Tax Collection Trust Fund

27  within the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles,

28  SAMAS number 762452, which was created by section 320.081,

29  Florida Statutes, and which is to be terminated pursuant to

30  Section 19(f), Article III of the State Constitution on

31  November 4, 2000, is re-created.

  1         Section 2.  All current balances of the License Tax

  2  Collection Trust Fund within the Department of Highway Safety

  3  and Motor Vehicles are carried forward, and all current

  4  sources and uses of the trust fund are continued.

  5         Section 3.  This act shall take effect November 4,

  6  2000.
