  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to trust funds; terminating

  3         specified trust funds and fund accounts within

  4         the Department of Transportation; providing for

  5         the transfer of current balances to general

  6         revenue, the paying of outstanding debts and

  7         obligations, and the removal of the terminated

  8         funds and accounts from the various state

  9         accounting systems; providing an effective

10         date.

12  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

14         Section 1.  (1)  The following trust funds and fund

15  accounts within the Department of Transportation are

16  terminated on July 1, 1998:

17         (a)  Florida Turnpike Plan Construction Trust Fund,

18  Account Number 552320.

19         (b)  Local Rail Service Assistance Trust Fund, Account

20  Number 552468.

21         (c)  Dade County 1998 Project Construction Trust Fund,

22  Account Number 552154.

23         (d)  Hillsborough County 1979 Project Construction

24  Trust Fund, Account Number 552368.

25         (e)  Baker County 1991 Project Construction Trust Fund,

26  Account Number 552416.

27         (f)  1984 Sunshine Skyway Project Maintenance Reserve

28  Trust Fund, Account Number 552714.

29         (g)  Jacksonville Transportation 1985 Project

30  Construction Trust Fund, Account Number 552414.

  1         (2)  All current balances remaining in, and all

  2  revenues of, the trust funds and fund accounts terminated by

  3  this act shall be transferred to the General Revenue Fund.

  4         (3)  For each trust fund or fund account terminated by

  5  this act, the Department of Transportation shall pay any

  6  outstanding debts or obligations of the terminated fund or

  7  account as soon as practicable, and the Comptroller shall

  8  close out and remove the terminated fund or account from the

  9  various state accounting systems using generally accepted

10  accounting principles concerning warrants outstanding, assets,

11  and liabilities.

12         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

13  law.

      Terminates specified trust funds and fund accounts within
18    the Department of Transportation, and provides for the
      transfer of current balances to general revenue, the
19    paying of outstanding debts and obligations, and the
