14         On page 2, line 29, of the bill, after the period

15

16  insert:

17  The Legislature also recognizes the need for local governments

18  to work cooperatively to provide for local and regional public

19  water supplies. Regional water supply development and regional

20  water resource development can be essential for serving

21  regional public water supply needs. Accordingly, when local

22  governments have voluntarily entered into a interlocal

23  agreement pursuant to s. 373.1962, the provisions in ss.

24  373.223(2) and 373.229(3) shall not apply when the regional

25  water supply authority is applying for a permit pursuant to

26  part II of this chapter for transport and use of water within

27  the jurisdictional boundaries of the member governments of the

28  regional water supply authority.
