11  Senator McKay moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 

14         On page 6, between lines 7 and 8,

15

16  insert:

17         Section 4.  Effective July 1, 1999, paragraph (a) of

18  subsection (4) of section 320.08056, Florida Statutes, is

19  amended to read:

20         320.08056  Specialty license plates.--

21         (4)  The following license plate annual use fees shall

22  be collected for the appropriate specialty license plates:

23         (a)  Manatee license plate, $20 $15.

24         Section 5.  Effective July 1, 1999, paragraph (b) of

25  subsection (1) of section 320.08058, Florida Statutes, is

26  amended to read:

27         320.08058  Specialty license plates.--

28         (1)  MANATEE LICENSE PLATES.--

29         (b)1.  The manatee license plate annual use fee must be

30  deposited into the Save the Manatee Trust Fund, created within

31  the Department of Environmental Protection.  The funds

 1  deposited in the Save the Manatee Trust Fund may be used only

 2  for manatee-related environmental education; manatee research;

 3  facilities, as provided in s. 370.12(5)(b); and manatee

 4  protection and recovery.

 5         2.  For fiscal year 1996-1997, 25 percent of the

 6  manatee license plate annual use fee must be deposited into

 7  the Save the Manatee Trust Fund within the Department of

 8  Environmental Protection and shall be used for manatee

 9  facilities as provided in s. 370.12(5)(b).

10         Section 6.  Effective July 1, 1999, paragraph (t) is

11  added to subsection (1) of section 215.22, Florida Statutes,

12  to read:

13         215.22  Certain income and certain trust funds

14  exempt.--

15         (1)  The following income of a revenue nature or the

16  following trust funds shall be exempt from the deduction

17  required by s. 215.20(1):

18         (t)  The Save the Manatee Trust Fund.
