  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to road designations;

  3         designating a portion of State Road 528 in

  4         Brevard County as the "Kennedy Space Center

  5         Highway"; designating a portion of State Road

  6         267 in Gadsden County as the "Pat Thomas

  7         Parkway"; designating a portion of State Road

  8         71 in Jackson County as the "Pete Peterson

  9         Parkway"; designating a portion of State Road

10         71 in Port St. Joe, as the "Cecil G. Costin,

11         Sr., Boulevard"; designating a portion of the

12         Polk County Highway as the "James Henry Mills

13         Medal of Honor Parkway"; directing the

14         Department of Transportation to erect suitable

15         markers; providing an effective date.

17  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

18

19         Section 1.  Kennedy Space Center Highway designated;

20  markers.--

21         (1)  That portion of State Road 528 from State Road 436

22  in Orange County east to State Road A1A in Brevard County is

23  hereby designated as the "Kennedy Space Center Highway."

24         (2)  The Department of Transportation is directed to

25  erect suitable markers designating the "Kennedy Space Center

26  Highway" as described in subsection (1).

27         Section 2.  Pat Thomas Parkway designated; markers.--

28         (1)  State Road 267 in Gadsden County from Washington

29  Street, one block north of U.S. 90, south to State Road 20 is

30  hereby designated as the "Pat Thomas Parkway."

  1         (2)  The Department of Transportation is directed to

  2  erect suitable markers designating the "Pat Thomas Parkway" as

  3  described in subsection (1).

  4         Section 3.  Pete Peterson Parkway designated;

  5  markers.--

  6         (1)  That portion of State Road 71 in Jackson County

  7  beginning at U.S. Highway 90 and extending south approximately

  8  2.6 miles to the intersection of County Road 280, also known

  9  as Rock Creek Road, is designated the "Pete Peterson Parkway."

10         (2)  The Department of Transportation is directed to

11  erect suitable markers designating the Pete Peterson Parkway

12  as described in subsection (1).

13         Section 4.  Cecil G. Costin, Sr., Boulevard designated;

14  markers.--

15         (1)  That portion of State Road 71 extending through

16  Port St. Joe, also known as 5th Street, is designated the

17  "Cecil G. Costin, Sr., Boulevard."

18         (2)  The Department of Transportation is directed to

19  erect suitable markers designating the Cecil G. Costin, Sr.,

20  Boulevard as described in subsection (1).

21         Section 5.  James Henry Mills Medal of Honor Parkway

22  designated; markers.--

23         (1)  That portion of the Polk County Parkway from

24  Interstate 4 at the Polk/Hillsborough county line east to

25  State Road 37 in Lakeland is hereby designated as the "James

26  Henry Mills Medal of Honor Parkway."

27         (2)  The Department of Transportation is directed to

28  erect suitable markers designating the "James Henry Mills

29  Medal of Honor Parkway" as described in subsection (1).

30         Section 6.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

31  law.
