  2         An act relating to historical resources;

  3         amending s. 267.021, F.S.; revising the

  4         definition of "historic property" or "historic

  5         resource"; repealing s. 267.16(4), F.S., which

  6         requires the Division of Historical Resources

  7         of the Department of State to maintain the

  8         Florida Folklife Archives; repealing s.

  9         267.162, F.S., which creates the Florida

10         Folklife Grant Program within the Division of

11         Historical Resources of the Department of

12         State; providing an effective date.

14  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

15

16         Section 1.  Subsection (3) of section 267.021, Florida

17  Statutes, is amended to read:

18         267.021  Definitions.--For the purpose of this act, the

19  term:

20         (3)  "Historic property" or "historic resource" means

21  any prehistoric or historic district, site, building, object,

22  or other real or personal property of historical,

23  architectural, or archaeological value, and folklife

24  resources. These properties or resources may include, but are

25  not limited to, monuments, memorials, Indian habitations,

26  ceremonial sites, abandoned settlements, sunken or abandoned

27  ships, engineering works, treasure trove, artifacts, or other

28  objects with intrinsic historical or archaeological value, or

29  any part thereof, relating to the history, government, and

30  culture of the state.

  1         Section 2.  Subsection (4) of section 267.16, Florida

  2  Statutes, and section 267.162, Florida Statutes, are repealed.

  3         Section 3.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

  4  law.
