  2         An act relating to the Zellwood Drainage and

  3         Water Control District, Orange County;

  4         repealing chapter 20715, Laws of Florida, 1941,

  5         chapter 24323, Laws of Florida, 1947; providing

  6         for dissolution of the district contingent upon

  7         purchase or acquisition of all property within

  8         district boundaries by the St. Johns River

  9         Water Management District on or before

10         September 30, 1998; providing for a plan to

11         allocate district assets and liabilities;

12         providing an effective date.

14  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

16         Section 1.  Chapter 20715, Laws of Florida, 1941, and

17  chapter 24323, Laws of Florida, 1947, relating to the Zellwood

18  Drainage and Water Control District are repealed and the

19  Zellwood Drainage and Water Control District shall be

20  dissolved effective September 30, 1998, provided all lands

21  within the district boundaries have been purchased or

22  otherwise acquired by the St. Johns River Water Management

23  District pursuant to s. 373.461, Florida Statutes, as of that

24  date. In the event all lands within the district have not been

25  purchased or otherwise acquired by September 30, 1998, chapter

26  20715, Laws of Florida, 1941, and chapter 24323, Laws of

27  Florida, 1947, shall not be repealed and the district shall

28  not be dissolved.

29         Section 2.  On or before September 30, 1998, St. Johns

30  River Water Management District and the Zellwood Drainage and

31  Water Control District shall develop and implement a plan to

  1  allocate, develop, and implement a plan to allocate all

  2  Zellwood Drainage and Water Control District assets and

  3  liabilities. In the implementation of said plan, the Zellwood

  4  Drainage and Water Control District is authorized to utilize

  5  employee compensation provisions of ss. 125.01(1)(bb) and

  6  166.021(7), Florida Statutes. The Zellwood Drainage and Water

  7  Control District may also utilize the surplus property

  8  disposal provisions of s. 373.089, Florida Statutes.

  9         Section 3.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

10  law.
