  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to public records; amending s.

  3         28.24, F.S.; providing that the fee to be

  4         charged by clerks of the circuit court for

  5         making copies of public records other than

  6         those recorded in the Official Records books of

  7         a specified size shall be as provided in s.

  8         119.07, F.S.; providing an effective date.

10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11

12         Section 1.  Subsection (8) of section 28.24, Florida

13  Statutes, is amended to read:

14         28.24  Service charges by clerk of the circuit

15  court.--The clerk of the circuit court shall make the

16  following charges for services rendered by the clerk's office

17  in recording documents and instruments and in performing the

18  duties enumerated.  However, in those counties where the

19  clerk's office operates as a fiscal unit of the county

20  pursuant to s. 145.022(1), the clerk shall not charge the

21  county for such services.

25         (8)(a)  For making copies by photographic process of

26  any public record actually recorded instrument in the Official

27  Records books public records consisting of pages of not more

28  than 14 inches by 8 1/2  inches, per page................ 1.00

29         (b)  For making copies by photographic process of all

30  other any instrument in the public records in the custody of

  1  the clerk:  a fee as provided in s. 119.07. of more than 14

  2  inches by 8 1/2  inches, per page........................ 5.00

  3         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1997.
