2 An act relating to occupational safety and
3 health; amending s. 442.012, F.S.; providing
4 for voluntary workplace safety programs and
5 practices by private employers; repealing ss.
6 442.003, 442.006, 442.008, 442.009, 442.0105,
7 442.013, 442.015, 442.017, and 442.019, F.S.,
8 relating to requirements, compliance,
9 enforcement, and penalties for workplace safety
10 programs and practices by private employers;
11 providing an effective date.

13 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

15 Section 1. Subsection (1) of section 442.012, Florida
16 Statutes, is amended to read:
17 442.012 Workplace safety committees and safety
18 coordinators.--
19 (1) In order to promote health and safety in places of
20 employment in this state:
21 (a) Each public or private employer of 20 or more
22 employees shall establish and administer a workplace safety
23 committee in accordance with rules adopted under this section.
24 (b) Each public or private employer is encouraged to
25 of fewer than 20 employees which is identified by the division
26 as having high frequency or severity of work-related injuries
27 shall establish and administer a workplace safety committee or
28 designate a workplace safety coordinator who may shall
29 establish and administer workplace safety activities in
30 accordance with rules adopted under this section.

1 Section 2. Sections 442.003, 442.006, 442.008,
2 442.009, 442.0105, 442.013, 442.015, 442.017, and 442.019,
3 Florida Statutes, are repealed.
4 Section 3. This act shall take effect upon becoming a
5 law.
