  2         An act relating to drivers' licenses; amending

  3         s. 322.21, F.S.; revising language with respect

  4         to license fees for the renewal of certain

  5         Class D or Class E licenses; providing an

  6         effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9

10         Section 1.  Subsection (1) of section 322.21, Florida

11  Statutes, is amended to read:

12         322.21  License fees; procedure for handling and

13  collecting fees.--

14         (1)  Except as otherwise provided herein, the fee for:

15         (a)  An original or renewal commercial driver's license

16  is $50, which shall include the fee for driver education

17  provided by s. 233.063; however, if an applicant has completed

18  training and is applying for employment or is currently

19  employed in a public or nonpublic school system that requires

20  the commercial license, the fee shall be the same as for a

21  Class E driver's license.  A delinquent fee of $1 shall be

22  added for a renewal made not more than 12 months after the

23  license expiration date.

24         (b)  An original Class D or Class E driver's license is

25  $20, which shall include the fee for driver's education

26  provided by s. 233.063; however, if an applicant has completed

27  training and is applying for employment or is currently

28  employed in a public or nonpublic school system that requires

29  a commercial driver license, the fee shall be the same as for

30  a Class E license.

  1         (c)  The renewal or extension of a Class D or Class E

  2  driver's license or of a license restricted to motorcycle use

  3  only is $15, except that a delinquent fee of $1 shall be added

  4  for a renewal or extension made not more than 12 months after

  5  the license expiration date.  The fee provided in this

  6  paragraph shall include the fee for driver's education

  7  provided by s. 233.063.

  8         (d)  The renewal or extension of a Class D or Class E

  9  driver's license for an individual who obtains a 4-year

10  renewal pursuant to s. 322.18(2)(b) is $15, except that a

11  delinquent fee of $1 shall be added for a renewal or extension

12  made not more than 12 months after the license expiration

13  date. The fee provided in this paragraph shall include the fee

14  for driver's education provided by s. 233.063.

15         (e)  The renewal or extension of a Class D or Class E

16  driver's license for an individual who obtains a 6-year

17  renewal pursuant to s. 322.18(2)(b), shall be free of charge.

18         (f)(d)  An original driver's license restricted to

19  motorcycle use only is $20, which shall include the fee for

20  driver's education provided by s. 233.063.

21         (g)(e)  Each endorsement required by s. 322.57 is $5.

22         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1 of the

23  year in which enacted.
