14         Amendment (with title amendment) 

15         On page 67, between lines 26 and 27,

16

17  insert:

18         Section 55.  Section 957.045, Florida Statutes, is

19  created to read:

20         957.045  Requests for proposals.--

21         (1)  The Correctional privatization Commission shall

22  issue two separate requests for proposals as defined in

23  Chapter 287 for the designing, financing, acquiring, leasing,

24  constructing, and operating of one 1497 bed adult prison to

25  house close and medium security inmates and one 350 bed

26  facility to house youthful offenders. The Commission shall

27  issue the requests of proposals on or before September 1,

28  1998, and shall award contracts for each of the facilities on

29  or before December 1, 1998.

30         (2)  The provisions of this section constitute specific

31  legislative authority for the Correctional Privatization
