5 'Skeeter' Carson Tennis Complex"; designating
6 the Lifelong Learning Center on the Boca Raton
7 Campus of Florida Atlantic University the
8 "Barry and Florence Friedberg Lifelong Learning
9 Center"; designating the swim/dive office and
10 training facility at the University of Florida
11 the "Wayne and Jimmie Carse Swimming and Diving
12 Complex"; renaming Flint Hall at the University
13 of Florida as "Keene-Flint Hall"; designating
14 the residence hall known as 2nd Court, Pei
15 Residence Halls, located at New College of the
16 University of South Florida the "Peggy Bates
17 Residence Hall"; designating the library tower
18 on the campus of Florida International
19 University the "Steven and Dorothea Green
20 Library"; designating the recording facility
21 donated to Florida State University as
22 "Critchfield Hall"; authorizing the respective
23 universities to erect suitable markers;
24 providing an effective date.

26 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

28 Section 1. The tennis court complex at the University
29 of West Florida is hereby designated the "Harold 'Skeeter'
30 Carson Tennis Complex" in honor of the university's first

1 tennis coach and his untiring and extraordinary contribution
2 to the community and to his profession.
3 Section 2. The Lifelong Learning Center on the Boca
4 Raton Campus of Florida Atlantic University, the first
5 lifelong learning center to be constructed on any of the
6 university's seven campuses for use by the Lifelong Learning
7 Society, is hereby designated the "Barry and Florence
8 Friedberg Lifelong Learning Center" in recognition of the
9 generosity, dedication, and active support of Barry and
10 Florence Friedberg.
11 Section 3. The swim/dive office and training facility
12 at the University of Florida is hereby designated the "Wayne
13 and Jimmie Carse Swimming and Diving Complex" in recognition
14 of the generosity of Wayne and Jimmie Carse to the university
15 and its students.
16 Section 4. Flint Hall at the University of Florida is
17 hereby renamed "Keene-Flint Hall" in recognition of Kenneth K.
18 Keene's generosity to the university and its students.
19 Section 5. The residence currently known as 2nd Court,
20 Pei Residence Halls, located on the Sarasota/Manatee Campus of
21 New College of the University of South Florida, is hereby
22 designated the "Peggy Bates Residence Hall" in recognition of
23 the tireless and dedicated services of Dr. Margaret L. Bates
24 to New College and the Sarasota/Manatee community.
25 Section 6. The library tower located on the campus of
26 Florida International University is hereby designated the
27 "Steven and Dorothea Green Library" in recognition of the
28 generosity of Steven and Dorothea Green to the university
29 libraries and to the Art Museum.
30 Section 7. The recording facility donated to Florida
31 State University by Echelon International Development

1 Corporation is hereby designated "Critchfield Hall" in
2 recognition of Dr. Jack Critchfield's generosity to Florida
3 State University and his philanthropic contributions to the
4 State of Florida.
5 Section 8. The respective universities are authorized
6 to erect suitable markers for the designations made by this
7 act.
8 Section 9. This act shall take effect upon becoming a
9 law.
