3 designations; designating portions of State
4 Road 9 and of N.W. 54th Street in Dade County
5 as the Brownsville Commercial District;
6 designating a portion of State Road 5 in Dade
7 County as Aventura Parkway; designating the
8 overpass being constructed at Butler Boulevard
9 and State Road A1A in Jacksonville as Whatley
10 Memorial Overpass; designating a portion of
11 State Road 37 in Polk County as W.S. Badcock
12 Boulevard; providing for the effect of such
13 designations; directing the Department of
14 Transportation to erect suitable markers;
15 providing legislative intent; providing an
16 effective date.

18 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
19
20 Section 1. Brownsville Commercial District designated;
21 markers.--
22 (1) State Road 9 (N.W. 27 Avenue) from N.W. 50 Street
23 to N.W. 58 Street and N.W. 54th Street from N.W. 23 Avenue to
24 N.W. 31 Avenue, is hereby designated as the "Brownsville
25 Commercial District."
26 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to
27 erect suitable markers designating the Brownsville Commercial
28 District as described in subsection (1).
29 Section 2. Aventura Parkway designated; markers.--

1 (1) State Road 5 (Biscayne Boulevard) within the
2 municipal limits of the City of Aventura in Dade County is
3 hereby designated as the "Aventura Parkway."
4 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to
5 erect suitable markers designating the Aventura Parkway as
6 described in subsection (1).
7 Section 3. Whatley Memorial Overpass designated;
8 markers.--
9 (1) The overpass located at the interchange being
10 constructed by the Jacksonville Transportation Authority at
11 Butler Boulevard and State Road A1A in Jacksonville is hereby
12 designated as the "Whatley Memorial Overpass."
13 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to
14 erect suitable markers designating the Whatley Memorial
15 Overpass as described in subsection (1).
16 Section 4. W.S. Badcock Boulevard designated;
17 markers.--
18 (1) State Road 37 from State Road 60 (mile marker
19 18.179) to Main Street (mile marker 28.647) in Lakeland is
20 hereby designated as the "W.S. Badcock Boulevard."
21 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to
22 erect suitable markers designating the W.S. Badcock Boulevard
23 as described in subsection (1).
24 Section 5. The effect of each designation contained in
25 this act shall only be construed to require the placement of a
26 marker by the Department of Transportation at the termini
27 specified for each highway segment or bridge designated by
28 this act, and as authority for the department to place other
29 markers as appropriate for the transportation facility being
30 designated. These designations are for honorary or memorial
31 purposes or to distinguish a particular facility, and shall

1 not be construed to require any action by a local government
2 or private party regarding the changing of any street signs,
3 mailing address, or emergency telephone number 911 system
4 listing.
5 Section 6. This act shall take effect upon becoming a
6 law.
