CS/HB 419, First Engrossed 1 A bill to be entitled 2 An act relating to road and bridge 3 designations; designating a portion of State 4 Road 972 in Dade County as the Lolo Villalobos 5 Way; directing the Department of Transportation 6 to erect suitable markers; designating a bridge 7 on State Road 45 near Dunnellon as the Brittan 8 Alexander Bridge; designating portions of State 9 Road 9 and of N.W. 54th Street in Dade County 10 as the Brownsville Commercial District; 11 designating a portion of State Road 5 in Dade 12 County as Aventura Parkway; designating the 13 overpass being constructed at Butler Boulevard 14 and State Road A1A in Jacksonville as Whatley 15 Memorial Overpass; designating a portion of 16 State Road 37 in Polk County as W.S. Badcock 17 Boulevard; providing for the effect of such 18 designations; directing the Department of 19 Transportation to erect suitable markers; 20 providing legislative intent; providing an 21 effective date. 22 23 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 24 25 Section 1. Lolo Villalobos Way designated; markers.-- 26 (1) State Road 972 (Coral Way) from S.W. 22nd Avenue 27 to S.W. 25th Avenue in Dade County is hereby designated as the 28 "Lolo Villalobos Way." 29 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to 30 erect suitable markers designating Lolo Villalobos Way as 31 described in subsection (1). 1 CODING: Words stricken are deletions; words underlined are additions. Brittan Alexander Bridge; Department of 2 Transportation to erect suitable markers.-- 3 (1) Bridge number 020026 over the Withlacoochee River 4 near Dunnellon on State Road 45(US 41) is hereby designated as 5 the "Brittan Alexander Bridge." 6 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to 7 erect suitable markers designating the "Brittan Alexander 8 Bridge" as described in subsection (1). 9 Section 3. Brownsville Commercial District designated; 10 markers.-- 11 (1) State Road 9 (N.W. 27 Avenue) from N.W. 50 Street 12 to N.W. 58 Street and N.W. 54th Street from N.W. 23 Avenue to 13 N.W. 31 Avenue, is hereby designated as the "Brownsville 14 Commercial District." 15 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to 16 erect suitable markers designating the Brownsville Commercial 17 District as described in subsection (1). 18 Section 4. Aventura Parkway designated; markers.-- 19 (1) State Road 5 (Biscayne Boulevard) within the 20 municipal limits of the City of Aventura in Dade County is 21 hereby designated as the "Aventura Parkway." 22 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to 23 erect suitable markers designating the Aventura Parkway as 24 described in subsection (1). 25 Section 5. Whatley Memorial Overpass designated; 26 markers.-- 27 (1) The overpass located at the interchange being 28 constructed by the Jacksonville Transportation Authority at 29 Butler Boulevard and State Road A1A in Jacksonville is hereby 30 designated as the "Whatley Memorial Overpass." 31 2 CODING: Words stricken are deletions; words underlined are additions. CS/HB 419, First Engrossed 1 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to 2 erect suitable markers designating the Whatley Memorial 3 Overpass as described in subsection (1). 4 Section 6. W.S. Badcock Boulevard designated; 5 markers.-- 6 (1) State Road 37 from State Road 60 (mile marker 7 18.179) to Main Street (mile marker 28.647) in Lakeland is 8 hereby designated as the "W.S. Badcock Boulevard." 9 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to 10 erect suitable markers designating the W.S. Badcock Boulevard 11 as described in subsection (1). 12 Section 7. The effect of each designation contained in 13 this act shall only be construed to require the placement of a 14 marker by the Department of Transportation at the termini 15 specified for each highway segment or bridge designated by 16 this act, and as authority for the department to place other 17 markers as appropriate for the transportation facility being 18 designated. These designations are for honorary or memorial 19 purposes or to distinguish a particular facility, and shall 20 not be construed to require any action by a local government 21 or private party regarding the changing of any street signs, 22 mailing address, or emergency telephone number 911 system 23 listing. 24 Section 8.
