14         Amendment (with title amendment) 

15         On page 43, line 26, of the bill

16

17  insert:

18         Section 27.  From the funds appropriated in section 46

19  of Chapter 97-384, Laws of Florida, the funds appropriated

20  from the General Revenue Fund are hereby reduced by $75

21  million of General Revenue.

22         Section 28.  For the 1998-99 fiscal year, there is

23  hereby appropriated from the General Revenue Fund, $75 million

24  to the Department of Education for reduced class size.  Such

25  funds shall be allocated to the school districts by prorating

26  this appropriation based on each district's October 1996

27  student membership for kindergarten through grade six.
