14         Senate Amendment 

15         On page 2, lines 3-13, delete those lines

16

17  and insert:  courses, including:

18         1.  Two credits in algebra and one credit in geometry,

19  or their equivalents, as determined by the state board.

20         2.  One credit in biology, one credit in chemistry, and

21  one credit in physics, or their equivalents, as determined by

22  the state board.

23         3.  two credits in the same foreign language, taken for

24  elective credit. A student whose native language is not

25  English is exempt from this requirement if the student

26  demonstrates proficiency in the native language. American sign

27  language constitutes a foreign language.
