1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to youth employment; creating
3 the "Florida Comprehensive Youth Employment
4 Act"; requiring that each state agency having
5 an annual budget of $1,000,000 or more include
6 a separate budget category for youth
7 employment; providing a portion of such budget
8 category for the employment of minority youths;
9 providing an effective date.

11 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

13 Section 1. (1) This act shall be known as the
14 "Florida Comprehensive Youth Employment Act."
15 (2) Each state agency having an annual budget of
16 $1,000,000 or more shall establish a separate category in its
17 legislative budget request submitted under s. 216.031, Florida
18 Statutes, which shall include specific provision for youth
19 employment. Each such budget request shall, at the discretion
20 of the agency head, include a portion within the specific
21 provision for youth employment for the employment of minority
22 youths and each such request shall be carried forward in the
23 Governor's recommended budget, submitted to the Legislature in
24 accordance with the provisions of ss. 216.151, 216.162, and
25 216.163, Florida Statutes.
26 Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a
27 law.
