  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the City of Punta Gorda,

  3         Charlotte County; prohibiting the taking of

  4         saltwater fish, except by hook and line, from

  5         within any manmade saltwater canal in the City

  6         of Punta Gorda; providing a penalty; providing

  7         an effective date

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11         Section 1.  It is unlawful for any person to take or

12  attempt to take any saltwater fish, except by hook and line,

13  from within any manmade saltwater canal located in the City of

14  Punta Gorda.

15         Section 2.  The violation of the provisions of section

16  1. is declared to be a criminal offense and misdemeanor of the

17  second degree within the meaning of sections 775.08 and

18  775.081, Florida Statutes, and shall be punishable as provided

19  by general law.

20         Section 3.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

21  law.
