11  The Committee on Community Affairs offered the following:

13         Amendment (with title amendment) 

14         On page 35, between lines 8-9 of the bill

15

16  insert:  Section 19.  Section 471.026, Florida Statutes, is

17  created to read:

18         471.026  Engineers performing building code inspector

19  duties.--Notwithstanding any other provision of this part, a

20  person currently licensed to practice as an engineer pursuant

21  to chapter 471 may provide building inspection services

22  described in s. 468.603(6) and (7) to a local government or

23  state agency upon their request, without being certified by

24  the Board of Building Code Administrators and Inspectors

25  pursuant to part XIII of chapter 468.  When performing these

26  building inspection services, the engineer shall be subject to

27  the disciplinary guidelines of this part, as well as

28  paragraphs (c) through (g) of s. 468.621(1).  However, the

29  complaint processing, investigation, and discipline shall be

30  conducted by the Board of Professional Engineers rather than

31  by the Board of Building Code Administrators and Inspectors.
