11  The Committee on Governmental Operations offered the

12  following:

14         Amendment 

15  Remove from the bill:  Everything after the enacting clause

16

17  and insert in lieu thereof:

18         Section 1.  Ronald Reagan Turnpike designated;

19  Department of Transportation to erect suitable markers.--

20         (1)  The Florida Turnpike consisting of the 312

21  contiguous mile of limited-access toll highway stretching from

22  Florida City, where South Dade County meets the Florida Keys,

23  continuing northward through 11 counties, including the

24  greater metropolitan areas of Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West

25  Palm Beach, and Orlando, and ending at a junction with

26  Interstate 75 in North Central Florida is hereby designated as

27  the "Ronald Reagan Turnpike."

28         (2)  The Department of Transportation is directed to

29  erect suitable markers designating the "Ronald Reagan

30  Turnpike" as described in subsection (1).

31         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a
