  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to residential insurance;

  3         amending s. 627.4025, F.S.; including insurance

  4         policies for cooperative unit owners and

  5         cooperative associations within certain

  6         residential insurance coverage provisions;

  7         providing an effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11         Section 1.  Subsection (1) of section 627.4025, Florida

12  Statutes, 1996 Supplement, is amended to read:

13         627.4025  Residential coverage and hurricane coverage

14  defined.--

15         (1)  Residential coverage includes both personal lines

16  residential coverage, which consists of the type of coverage

17  provided by homeowner's, mobile home owner's, dwelling,

18  tenant's, condominium unit owner's, cooperative unit owner's,

19  and similar policies, and commercial lines residential

20  coverage, which consists of the type of coverage provided by

21  condominium association, cooperative association, apartment

22  building, and similar policies.  Residential coverage for

23  personal lines and commercial lines as set forth in this

24  section includes policies that provide coverage for particular

25  perils such as windstorm and hurricane or coverage for insurer

26  insolvency or deductibles.

27         Section 2.  This act shall take effect October 1, 1997.
