  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to trust funds; re-creating the

  3         Criminal Justice Standards and Training Trust

  4         Fund within the Department of Corrections

  5         without modification; carrying forward current

  6         balances and continuing current sources and

  7         uses thereof; providing an effective date.

  8

  9         WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of

10  the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Trust Fund within

11  the Department of Corrections, which is otherwise scheduled to

12  be terminated pursuant to constitutional mandate, and

13         WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the Criminal

14  Justice Standards and Training Trust Fund within the

15  Department of Corrections before its scheduled termination

16  date and has found that it continues to meet an important

17  public purpose, and

18         WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public

19  policy concerning the Criminal Justice Standards and Training

20  Trust Fund within the Department of Corrections sets adequate

21  parameters for its use, NOW, THEREFORE,

22

23  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

24

25         Section 1.  The Criminal Justice Standards and Training

26  Trust Fund within the Department of Corrections, SAMAS number

27  702148, which is to be terminated pursuant to Section 19(f),

28  Article III of the State Constitution on November 4, 2000, is

29  re-created.

30         Section 2.  All current balances of the Criminal

31  Justice Standards and Training Trust Fund within the

  1  Department of Corrections are carried forward, and all current

  2  sources and uses of the trust fund are continued.

  3         Section 3.  This act shall take effect November 4,

  4  2000.
