  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to trust funds; re-creating the

  3         State Attorney's Forfeiture and Investigative

  4         Support Trust Fund within the Justice

  5         Administrative Commission without modification;

  6         carrying forward current balances and

  7         continuing current sources and uses thereof;

  8         providing an effective date.

  9

10         WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of

11  the State Attorney's Forfeiture and Investigative Support

12  Trust Fund within the Justice Administrative Commission, which

13  is otherwise scheduled to be terminated pursuant to

14  constitutional mandate, and

15         WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the State

16  Attorney's Forfeiture and Investigative Support Trust Fund

17  within the Justice Administrative Commission before its

18  scheduled termination date and has found that it continues to

19  meet an important public purpose, and

20         WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public

21  policy concerning the State Attorney's Forfeiture and

22  Investigative Support Trust Fund within the Justice

23  Administrative Commission sets adequate parameters for its

24  use, NOW, THEREFORE,

26  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

27

28         Section 1.  The State Attorney's Forfeiture and

29  Investigative Support Trust Fund within the Justice

30  Administrative Commission, SAMAS number 212316, which is to be

  1  terminated pursuant to Section 19(f), Article III of the State

  2  Constitution on November 4, 2000, is re-created.

  3         Section 2.  All current balances of the State

  4  Attorney's Forfeiture and Investigative Support Trust Fund

  5  within the Justice Administrative Commission are carried

  6  forward, and all current sources and uses of the trust fund

  7  are continued.

  8         Section 3.  This act shall take effect November 4,

  9  2000.
