17 and insert:
18 Section 1. The Indigent Criminal Defense Trust Fund
19 within Justice Administration, which is to be terminated
20 pursuant to Section 19(f), Article III of the State
21 Constitution on November 4, 2000, is re-created.
22 Section 2. All current balances of the Indigent
23 Criminal Defense Trust Fund within Justice Administration are
24 carried forward, and all current sources and uses of the trust
25 fund are continued.

Amendment No.
1 and insert:
2 Indigent Criminal Defense Trust Fund within
3 Justice Administration without modification;
4 carrying forward current balances and
5 continuing current sources and uses thereof;
6 providing an effective date.

8 WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of
9 the Indigent Criminal Defense Trust Fund within Justice
10 Administration, which is otherwise scheduled to be terminated
11 pursuant to constitutional mandate, and
12 WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the Indigent
13 Criminal Defense Trust Fund within Justice Administration
14 before its scheduled termination date and has found that it
15 continues to meet an important public purpose, and
16 WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public
17 policy concerning the Indigent Criminal Defense Trust Fund
18 within Justice Administration sets adequate parameters for its
19 use, NOW, THEREFORE,
