  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to trust funds; re-creating the

  3         Juvenile Crime Prevention and Early

  4         Intervention Trust Fund within the Department

  5         of Juvenile Justice without modification;

  6         carrying forward current balances and

  7         continuing current sources and uses thereof;

  8         providing an effective date.

10         WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of

11  the Juvenile Crime Prevention and Early Intervention Trust

12  Fund within the Department of Juvenile Justice, which is

13  otherwise scheduled to be terminated pursuant to

14  constitutional mandate, and

15         WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the Juvenile

16  Crime Prevention and Early Intervention Trust Fund within the

17  Department of Juvenile Justice before its scheduled

18  termination date and has found that it continues to meet an

19  important public purpose, and

20         WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public

21  policy concerning the Juvenile Crime Prevention and Early

22  Intervention Trust Fund within the Department of Juvenile

23  Justice sets adequate parameters for its use, NOW, THEREFORE,

24

25  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

26

27         Section 1.  The Juvenile Crime Prevention and Early

28  Intervention Trust Fund within the Department of Juvenile

29  Justice, SAMAS number 802415, which is to be terminated

30  pursuant to Section 19(f), Article III of the State

31  Constitution on November 4, 2000, is re-created.

  1         Section 2.  All current balances of the Juvenile Crime

  2  Prevention and Early Intervention Trust Fund within the

  3  Department of Juvenile Justice are carried forward, and all

  4  current sources and uses of the trust fund are continued.

  5         Section 3.  This act shall take effect November 4,

  6  2000.
