  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to trust funds; re-creating the

  3         Criminal Justice Standards and Training Trust

  4         Fund within the Department of Law Enforcement

  5         without modification; carrying forward current

  6         balances and continuing current sources and

  7         uses thereof; providing an effective date.

  8

  9         WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of

10  the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Trust Fund within

11  the Department of Law Enforcement, which is otherwise

12  scheduled to be terminated pursuant to constitutional mandate,

13  and

14         WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the Criminal

15  Justice Standards and Training Trust Fund within the

16  Department of Law Enforcement before its scheduled termination

17  date and has found that it continues to meet an important

18  public purpose, and

19         WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public

20  policy concerning the Criminal Justice Standards and Training

21  Trust Fund within the Department of Law Enforcement sets

22  adequate parameters for its use, NOW, THEREFORE,

23

24  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

25

26         Section 1.  The Criminal Justice Standards and Training

27  Trust Fund within the Department of Law Enforcement, SAMAS

28  number 712148, which is to be terminated pursuant to Section

29  19(f), Article III of the State Constitution on November 4,

30  2000, is re-created.

  1         Section 2.  All current balances of the Criminal

  2  Justice Standards and Training Trust Fund within the

  3  Department of Law Enforcement are carried forward, and all

  4  current sources and uses of the trust fund are continued.

  5         Section 3.  This act shall take effect November 4,

  6  2000.
