  2         An act relating to trust funds; re-creating the

  3         Florida Motor Vehicle Theft Prevention Trust

  4         Fund within the Department of Legal Affairs

  5         without modification; carrying forward current

  6         balances and continuing current sources and

  7         uses thereof; providing an effective date.

  8

  9         WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of

10  the Florida Motor Vehicle Theft Prevention Trust Fund within

11  the Department of Legal Affairs, which is otherwise scheduled

12  to be terminated pursuant to constitutional mandate, and

13         WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the Florida Motor

14  Vehicle Theft Prevention Trust Fund within the Department of

15  Legal Affairs before its scheduled termination date and has

16  found that it continues to meet an important public purpose,

17  and

18         WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public

19  policy concerning the Florida Motor Vehicle Theft Prevention

20  Trust Fund within the Department of Legal Affairs sets

21  adequate parameters for its use, NOW, THEREFORE,

22

23  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

24

25         Section 1.  The Florida Motor Vehicle Theft Prevention

26  Trust Fund within the Department of Legal Affairs, SAMAS

27  number 412051, which is to be terminated pursuant to Section

28  19(f), Article III of the State Constitution on November 4,

29  2000, is re-created.

30         Section 2.  All current balances of the Florida Motor

31  Vehicle Theft Prevention Trust Fund within the Department of

  1  Legal Affairs are carried forward, and all current sources and

  2  uses of the trust fund are continued.

  3         Section 3.  This act shall take effect November 4,

  4  2000.
