  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to license plates; amending ss.

  3         320.08056 and 320.08058, F.S.; creating a

  4         Conserve Wildlife license plate; providing for

  5         the distribution of annual use fees received

  6         from the sale of such license plates; providing

  7         an effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10

11         Section 1.  Paragraph (t) is added to subsection (4) of

12  section 320.08056, Florida Statutes, to read:

13         320.08056  Specialty license plates.--

14         (4)  The following license plate annual use fees shall

15  be collected for the appropriate specialty license plates:

16         (t)  Conserve Wildlife license plate, $15.

17         Section 2.  Subsection (20) is added to section

18  320.08058, Florida Statutes, to read:

19         320.08058  Specialty license plates.--

20         (20)  CONSERVE WILDLIFE LICENSE PLATES.--

21         (a)  The department shall develop a Conserve Wildlife

22  license plate. Conserve Wildlife license plates shall bear the

23  colors and design approved by the department. The word

24  "Florida" shall appear at the top of the plate, and the words

25  "Conserve Wildlife" shall appear at the bottom of the plate.

26  The plate design shall include the likeness of a Florida black

27  bear.

28         (b)  The proceeds of the Conserve Wildlife license

29  plate annual use fee shall be forwarded to the Wildlife

30  Foundation of Florida, Inc., a citizen support organization

31  created pursuant to s. 372.0215.

  1         1.  Notwithstanding s. 320.08062, up to 10 percent of

  2  the proceeds from the annual use fee may be used for marketing

  3  the Conserve Wildlife license plate and administrative costs

  4  directly related to the management and distribution of the

  5  proceeds.

  6         2.  The remaining proceeds from the annual use fee

  7  shall be used for programs and activities of the Florida Game

  8  and Fresh Water Fish Commission which contribute to the health

  9  and well-being of Florida black bears and other wildlife

10  diversity.

11         Section 3.  This act shall take effect July 1 of the

12  year in which enacted.

17    Vehicles to develop a Conserve Wildlife specialty license
