18 427.0156 Local coordinating boards; organization;
19 membership.--A local coordinating board shall be established
20 in each county. However, when agreed upon in writing by the
21 boards of county commissions in each county to be covered in
22 the service area, multicounty local coordinating boards may be
23 appointed. In a multicounty service area, the written
24 agreement must state the order in which the counties will
25 rotate the position of chair and the length of time for which
26 each county is to serve as chair of the local coordinating
27 board.
28 (1) In the case of a single county board, the size and
29 membership of the local coordinating board shall be
30 established by the county commission or the elected governing
31 board of the county. Each member shall be appointed for a term

2 board of the county.
3 (2) In the case of a multicounty board, the size and
4 membership of the local coordinating board shall be fixed by
5 the written agreement between counties establishing the board,
6 provided that members must be appointed by each county
7 commission or the elected governing board of the county for a
8 term of 2 years and each county shall be equally represented.
9 (3) Members of the local coordinating boards may be
10 county commissioners, other local elected officials, or other
11 non-elected persons as deemed appropriate by a majority vote
12 of the county commission or the elected governing board of the
13 county.
14 (4) Non-elected members of the board may include, but
15 are not limited to, representatives of:
16 (a) public agencies participating in the system;
17 (b) system users;
18 (c) private transportation businesses; and
19 (d) local transit agencies.
