11  The Committee on Regulated Industries recommended the

12  following amendment:

14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 

15         On page 11, between lines 25 and 26,

16

17  insert:

18         Section 8.  Notwithstanding the transfer of the

19  Division of Medical Quality Assurance to the Department of

20  Health or any other provision of law to the contrary,

21  veterinarians licensed under chapter 474, Florida Statutes,

22  shall be governed by the treatment of impaired practitioners

23  provisions of section 455.707, Florida Statutes, as if they

24  were under the jurisdiction of the Division of Medical Quality

25  Assurance, except that for veterinarians the Department of

26  Business and Professional Regulation shall, at its option,

27  exercise any of the powers granted to the Department of Health

28  by that provision, and "board" shall mean board as defined in

29  chapter 474, Florida Statutes.
