1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to disposition of funds accrued
3 under the Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act;
4 amending s. 932.7055, F.S.; requiring school
5 boards and state universities to retain funds
6 accrued under the act and account for them
7 separately from other funds; providing an
8 effective date.

10 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12 Section 1. Paragraphs (g) and (h) of subsection (5) of
13 section 932.7055, Florida Statutes, are amended to read:
14 932.7055 Disposition of liens and forfeited
15 property.--
16 (5) If the seizing agency is a state agency, all
17 remaining proceeds shall be deposited into the General Revenue
18 Fund. However, if the seizing agency is:
19 (g) A school board security agency employing law
20 enforcement officers, the proceeds accrued pursuant to the
21 provisions of the Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act shall be
22 retained by that school board and accounted for separately
23 from other funds deposited into the School Board Law
24 Enforcement Trust Fund.
25 (h) One of the State University System police
26 departments acting within the jurisdiction of its employing
27 state university, the proceeds accrued pursuant to the
28 provisions of the Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act shall be
29 retained by that state university and accounted for separately
30 from other funds deposited into that state university's
31 special law enforcement trust fund.

1 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1 of the
2 year in which enacted.
