14         On page 1, line 25, through page 2, line 28,

15  remove from the bill:  all of said lines

17  and insert in lieu thereof:

18  St. Johns River have expressed their opposition to designating

19  the entire St. Johns River as an American Heritage River, and

20         WHEREAS, the Federal Government describes the American

21  Heritage Rivers initiative as being a locally driven

22  initiative; however, the Federal Government provides virtually

23  no options for counties opposing such a designation to opt out

24  of an American Heritage River designation, NOW, THEREFORE,

25

26  Be It Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

27

28         That the Florida House of Representatives opposes the

29  entire application to designate St. Johns River as an American

30  Heritage River
