  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to veterans; creating s.

  3         320.08405, F.S.; directing the Department of

  4         Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to provide,

  5         by rule, for the issuance of a red, white, and

  6         blue insignia or decal to be affixed to certain

  7         license plates indicating a service branch or

  8         special military distinction earned by the

  9         licenseholder; providing an effective date.

11  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12

13         Section 1.  Section 320.08405, Florida Statutes, is

14  created to read:

15         320.08405  Military awards; insignia or decal may be

16  affixed to certain license plates; rules.--A military veteran

17  who is the holder of a license plate designating his or her

18  status as a veteran or a military veteran who is the holder of

19  a specialty license plate issued pursuant to s. 320.08058(4)

20  may affix to the license plate a red, white, and blue insignia

21  or decal which has been approved by the department. The

22  department shall, by rule, provide for the issuance of such

23  red, white, and blue insignias or decals, which rule shall

24  include provisions for the use, design, material, fee, and

25  placement of the insignia or decal. Such insignia or decal

26  shall display, in red, white, and blue, the logo of a service

27  branch or special military distinction which has been earned

28  by the person to whom the insignia or decal is issued.

29         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

30  law.
