1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to Pelican Lake Water Control
3 District, Palm Beach County; amending chapter
4 77-625, Laws of Florida, as amended; providing
5 that the Board of Supervisors shall be composed
6 of three citizens of the United States who
7 shall be resident freeholders of the State of
8 Florida; repealing chapter 28417, Laws of
9 Florida, 1953, as amended, which authorizes
10 Pahokee Water Control District to provide water
11 control to Pelican Lake Sub-Drainage District;
12 amending chapter 26739, Laws of Florida, 1951,
13 as amended; deleting land from Pelican Lake
14 Water Control District and annexing land into
15 Pahokee Water Control District; providing for
16 severability; providing an effective date.

18 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

20 Section 1. Section 4 of chapter 77-625, Laws of
21 Florida, as amended, is amended by adding an additional
22 paragraph, to read:
23 The Board of Supervisors of Pelican Lake Water Control
24 District shall be composed of three citizens of the United
25 States, who shall be resident freeholders of the State of
26 Florida.
27 Section 2. Chapter 28417, Laws of Florida, 1953, as
28 amended, is hereby repealed.
29 Section 3. Section 1 of chapter 26739, Laws of
30 Florida, 1951, as amended, is amended by adding additional
31 paragraphs, to read:

1 The following lands, consisting of 892.65 acres in Palm
2 Beach County, Florida, are hereby deannexed from Pelican Lake
3 Water Control District:
4 Section 19 and that part of Section 18 lying South of
5 the West Palm Beach Canal, Township 42 South, Range 38 East,
6 more particularly described as follows:
7 Beginning at a point where the south right-of-way line
8 of Conner's Highway (designated as State Road No. 716)
9 intersects the west line of Section 18, Township 42 South,
10 Range 38 East;
11 Thence south along the west line of Sections 18 and 19
12 to the southwest corner of Section 19;
13 Thence east along the south line of Section 19 to the
14 southeast corner of said section;
15 Thence north along the east line of Sections 19 and 18
16 to a point where the east line of said Section 18 intersects
17 the south right-of-way line of Conner's Highway;
18 Thence in a northwesterly direction along the south
19 right-of-way line of Conner's Highway to a point where said
20 right-of-way line intersects the west line of Section 18, the
21 same being the point of beginning.
22 Section 4. The above-described parcels of land are
23 annexed within the boundary lines of Pahokee Water Control
24 District, a corporation under the drainage laws of the State
25 of Florida, existing in Palm Beach County.
26 Section 5. If any section, clause, or provision of
27 this act shall for any reason be declared invalid or
28 unconstitutional, the remaining portions of this act shall
29 remain in full force and effect.
30 Section 6. This act shall take effect upon becoming a
31 law.
