  2         An act relating to petroleum fuel measuring

  3         devices (RAB); amending s. 525.07, F.S.;

  4         providing for the repair and adjustment of such

  5         devices by meter mechanics; providing for

  6         notification of the Department of Agriculture

  7         and Consumer Services; providing an effective

  8         date.

10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11

12         Section 1.  Subsection (7) of section 525.07, Florida

13  Statutes, is amended to read:

14         525.07  Powers and duties of department; inspections;

15  unlawful acts.--

16         (7)  It is shall be unlawful for any person to break,

17  cut, or remove any seal applied by the department to a

18  petroleum fuel measuring device or container. When it becomes

19  necessary to repair and adjust a petroleum fuel measuring

20  device during the absence of an inspector of the department,

21  the seal on the meter adjustment may be broken by a person who

22  is registered with the department as a meter mechanic. After

23  repairs and adjustments have been made, the adjusting

24  mechanism must immediately be resealed by the registered meter

25  mechanic with a seal clasp bearing the name of the company or

26  the name or initials of the registered mechanic. The

27  registered mechanic shall immediately notify the department of

28  this action.

29         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

30  law.
