  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to superintendents of schools;

  3         providing limitations upon benefits that a

  4         superintendent of schools may receive upon

  5         termination of employment; providing an

  6         effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9

10         Section 1.  When the employment of a superintendent of

11  schools terminates, the total value of the termination

12  benefits that the superintendent receives may not exceed the

13  amount of his or her annual salary in the year the employment

14  terminates. This section applies to any contract issued,

15  amended, or renewed after the effective date of this section.

16         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

17  law.
